This Fri the 4th and Sat the 5th of july is the 2008 Alice Springs show. The Show has attractions of all shapes and sizes; Diving Pigs, Pets, Parrots, Poultry, Cattle, Horses, Fireworks, Stilt Walkers, Busker’s.. From small to the large displays, and a Fireworks Spectacular at 7 pm Saturday night. The Show is jammed packed, more than 250 stalls and the BIGGEST entertainment and event schedule in years. Entertainment includes the Banana’s in Pyjamas, The Flying Pigs, Coopers Brewery Clydedales, Whip Fighting and mch more.

Caloundra Cup Carnival is the Sunshine Coast Turf Club’s major racing event of the year, boasting more than AUD850,000 in prize money. Caloundra Cup race day last year, boasted a crowd of over 7500. This years event takes place this Sunday the 28th of June at the The Sunshine Coast Turf Club’s Corbould Park Racecourse.

Pichi Richi Marathon

The Pichi Richi Marathon passes through the picturesque Pichi Richi Pass between Port Augusta and Quorn in the Flinders Ranges over a distance of 42.2 kilometres. From literally running over the sea to running through the stark red cliffs that characterise the Flinders Ranges. The Pichi Richi Marathon is the only marathon event outside the metropolitan area in South Australia. This years event is held this Sunday the June 29th at 8am.

The Swan Hill June Racing Carnival is a hallmark event in the region that attracts more than 5500 visitors to the town. The Carnival extends beyond the excellent racing, with a host of entertainment & related events programmed across 3 magnificent days. A race day breakfast will take place on Cup Day at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club, whilst the Swan Hill Cub will also host a Calcutta function on Saturday evening. The carnival kicks off this Friday the 6th of June.

This Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June 2008 is the Manly Food and Wine Festival where Manly’s landmark restaurants will once again be showcasing their fine range of international cuisines, from Asia to Europe and back again. This Saturday the 31st of May from 9am-4pm is Wollongong’s ’Tutti in Piazza’ Italian Day at Crown St Mall. The Mall will be transformed into an Italian Piazza with delicious food and Italian entertainment including a parade, singing and dancing. You can sample food prepared by the local Italo-Australian Associations originating from various regions of Italy including pasta, Italian sausage, coffee beans and Italian sweets including gingerbread, nougat and crostoli.
