New South Wales

New South Wales

Although Sydney has so much to offer with its magnificent harbour and fantastic attractions, New South Wales has so much more to offer. The state has many contrasts from the lush forests of the south, the pristine beaches of the Sapphire Coast to subtropical sun-drenched beaches of the northern coast and the dry outback of the west, this state has it all. Home to over 6 1/2 million of the 20 million Australians, New South Wales is the most populated, but outside the huge metropolis of Sydney which is home to more than 4 million there are vast spaces. Some popular tourist destinations in New South Wales include the Country Music Capital of Australia- Tamworth. Newcastle- New South Wales second city with a rich history in mining and shipping. The northern coastline attracts thousands to the beautiful climate of Australia’s most easterly town- Byron Bay and towards the South Bateman’s Bay, Narooma and Eden are holiday and fishing havens. Inland Dubbo, Goulburn have a rich farming tradition and the Australian Capital Territory lives inside the South Eastern section of the state, home to Australia’s government.
