Green Island

This small tropical island situated 27 km of Cairns is probably the most popular for people staying in Cairns for a short period. Situated a which is accessible by 45 minutes ferry ride or if you are more adventurous by helicopter. The island features many water based activities including snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef where you can see thousands of fish and sea creatures. The island also features walks and a large resort which has restaurants, a pool bars and shops. There are several glass bottom boat cruises available as well as snorkeling and diving tours.

Kuranda Skyrail

The skyrail is an unique adventure- Catch the train on an amazing journey deep into the rainforest to Kuranda. Through deep gouges, tree ferns and waterfalls- the scenery is spectacular. After visiting Kuranda you board the Skyrail and take a journey high above the rainforest in a gondola descending down the steep mountain to the base below.

Kuranda Markets

High in the hills are one of the more unique experiences- Kuranda, its a step back to the ‘hippie’ days of the late ’60’s. This small township is home to cafes, art and craft markets and ’60’s inspired clothing. Including hemp, tyedye and woven products.

Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park,

For a taste of authentic Aboriginal culture, the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is a must. There are great exhibits and performances in five theaters, a museum, art gallery, and a traditional Aboriginal camp. Situated at the base of the Kuranda Skyrail it makes a great end to your trip to Kuranda before your return to Cairns.

Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures

A trip to North Queensland would not be complete without visiting one of Australia’s most feared creatures- the Crocodile. At Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures you can see and learn about these fearsome giant reptiles and also see snake shows, koalas and many other native critters from the land downunder. Close to the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest near Port Douglas this is an experience you will remember.
